I have gotten pretty creative this year with my gifts (see also my Patience Present post)! For Father’s Day I thought I’d get Troy a Nespresso machine – we used one on our trip to Chicago at the Peninsula and loved it! I was able to find the perfect ‘bar’ cart for our bedroom at Home goods for a steal at $100 in comparison to the others I’ve seen online. I filled it up with some expresso mugs that we already had, sugars & bottled waters and wheeled it in Sunday morning! Troy thought it was great and felt like we were on a vacation at a hotel somewhere! He joked around asking if I would turn the sheets down too.. 🙂 funny guy.

I also got him some pictures framed that we had taken of Maddox (look for the newborn photos post coming soon). They came out so great! It was hard to choose which to frame, I just wanted to hang them all up. Then lastly – since he had gotten me a watch for Mothers Day, which he only did so I would feel obligated to get him one for Fathers Day..I’m smarter than he thinks..I had gotten him an older watch he had been eyeing up.

We had a great rest of the day, after going with my sister to her church in the morning we went over to my Brothers to celebrate the new & old dads by BBQ’ing and swimming. Maddox even got in for a little dip! Took him a minute to get used to the water (which felt like a bath at 85 degrees) but he soon loved it!

    Restoration Hardware Dressor
This dresser was something I bought early on at Restoration Hardware during one of their big sales (they tend to have them seasonally – so check back if it’s not currently on sale)! The rug was a steal I found at a home goods near me for just a couple hundred dollars! Originally I purchased one from The Land of Nod. It had a beautiful pattern, but it had a bit of sparkle in the design which wasn’t clear from the pictures. It was very nice – if you had a girl. For a boy, I didn’t love it so I returned it. One of my favorite bloggers posts pictures of the rug from The Land of Nod here.

    Babies R Us Chair

BookshelfThis train was something given to me by my Grandfather who passed just this past fall – this was something I wanted to incorporate into the room. It was silver and a bit rusty, I wish I had done a before/after photo so you could see how it looked, but I just took some spray paint and made it white to clean it up and match his room!

Lamp and nightstandI loved this little side table and faceted table lamp – it was the perfect size for what I was looking for!

zebra artThis is probably the one contribution Troy had to the Room – I was lucky he let me pick out most things myself (rare of him to do)! He had seen this Zebra with a frame around it and it’s really been one of the highlights of the Room – everyone asks where we got the idea from!

    Babyletto

BabylettoI wanted to add some moon & stars to the room and Babies’R’Us had the perfect gray musical mobile to match. The gray star pillow I found at Restoration Hardware.

My girlfriend who recently had a baby girl (now 1 years old already) gave us this book – It’s so great, but here’s to hoping Maddox’s first words will be MaMa! 🙂

This was something I found on etsy! I wanted to organize his closet well and was able to find these cute little dividers that work great!

_DSC0359I had found this chandelier at a local lighting store, but found it’s inspiration for it here on Houzz.

One of our first purchases for Maddox we were out shopping not looking for anything for him but happened to see this Giant Giraffe. I had been looking for something similar for awhile and just had to have it! So I put it in the cart and headed to the register to purchase. Well, we get outside and go to put it in the car – (the only thing I can do is blame it on the ‘pregnancy brain’ because I had forgotten what car we took) our little 2 door 911. Somehow we managed to fit it in with the giraffe taking up the majority of the room. Luckily we were only 15 minutes away from our house.
